Undesireable No.1 : WEIGHT

          Weight is every girl's primary problem. Do I look too fat? Does this dress make me look too fat? Do these shoes make my ankles look chubby? Does this top make my arms look fat? And the questions don't stop. Even though most guys don't understand why we fuss so much over our weight, all girls get it. Now, the line between just being self- conscious and actually having a weight problem is very thin. 
         It's normal to gain weight in your teen years because you get taller. Sports may also cause you to gain muscle weight, which is totally healthy. Being unhealthy isn't about the number on the scale. It's about your excercise and eating habits combined with your body mass index (or BMI), which measures your body fat based on your height, weight and age. SECRET REASONS YOU'RE STRUGGLING WITH YOUR WEIGHT.
1.Not Enough Sleep.
When you're juggling college, friends, tuitions and tons of after college activities, sleep is probably the last thing on you're mind. But research shows that the less sleep you get, the more you increase your chances of being overweight. That's because when you're sleep-deprived, your body thinks you're hungry even when you aren't, and it craves sugary foods that give you a quick energy hit.


SIMPLE GOAL: TRY FOR 8 HOURS
  • Switch to decaf drinks after 4 P.M.
  • Exercise
  • Power down by shutting off distractions like your phone or computer when your ready for bed.
2. Skipping Breakfast.
Bunking breakfast seems like an easy way to cut calories, especially if you aren't starving in the morning. But eating first thing gets your metabolism rate going.

Giving Your Body a Boost!

Before we get to the material stuff that make you look good, let's get to the root, your health. At the end of the day, even if your couture is spot on but you have bags under your eyes and have unhealthy fat that shows at all the wrong places, you're never really going to look good. So here are some good tips to make your clothes look better, i.e. make YOU look good!

1.TEST-DAY BREAKFAST
You're rushing out the door on an exam day or using those final minutes before college to cram, but research actually shows that your brain will perform better if you eat a breakfast that has healthy carbs and protein! (Whole wheat + fruit + dairy = 99%!)

2. INSTA-ENERGY SNACKS
After college, you're tempted to grab Lays or Perk for a quick shot of energy to get you through tuitions or class. But the combo of natural sugar and fiber in fruit gives you the energy that hits you just as fast but lasts longer!
e.g. Try sandwiching slices of apple with peanut butter in between!
     
       Also try making a homemade fruit smoothie!
Ingredients:
1 cup strawberries
3/4 cup skim milk
Ice cubes

3. POWER MEALS
If you feel drained 24/7, its time to break up with starchy junk food and start flirting with these real meals. Their iron (from lean meat) and B vitamins (from broccoli or whole grains like chapati or multi-grain bread) will give you real lasting energy.

Coco Chanel says,"A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous."


I say,  SO TRUE. You don't have to have the most expensive brands...but when you get them, you're in heaven. But till then, you can look amazing in clothes you buy from the simplest places. Like from the flee market on Baga Beach in Goa. You have to be on your toes all the time though, you never know when fashion might change! Yes, yes, it is a lot of work. Reading fashion magazines from all over the world, watching fashion related tv shows n what your favourite celebs are wearing this season can tire you out. But don't worry! That's why you have us! ;) All of us have our favourite brands. Mine are Tommy Hilfiger and GAP from the top of my head! 


SALE. The four letter word that sends my heart racing. Yes. we'll be telling you all about the latest sales at your favourite stores. The main thing about fashion is not to lose yourself. There should always be a bit of you in everything you wear. Don't copy someone's style so much that you just become a replica, cause, who wants to be that right? More on the different ways to look good everyday soon!

FOOD.

I couldn't have put it better myself! I must confess..food is what I'm thinking about almost all the time! Of course that is when I get time from thinking about college politics, last week's 90210 episode, what I'm wearing for the party next weekend and why Chandler Bing can't exist in real life. Food...one of the 2 things that got me through my 10th standard board exams...the other being my amazing friends =). It seemed like all I had to do in life was study..study before sleeping, study after getting up, study before bathing, studying after bathing, I even dreamt about those annoying textbooks! So, food was my only highlight (and ofcourse talking to my friends n sharing the common hatred towards academics) I wanna thank my mom sincerely for making me whatever I wanted to eat. She also bought me whatever I had sudden cravings for, like Haagen Dazs cookies n cream ice-cream. The thought that my next meal was going to be good kept me going. Masterchef Australia is such an amazing show. One of the few shows actually, which actually concentrate on the food n not on that reality tv drama which people seem to thrive on. But, more on that later. On this blog, you'll learn about all the best places to eat in town! Whether its a mushroom n sun dried tomato risotto or the best vada pav! Stay tuned n keep eating!

So what exactly is this?

So here's what this blog's about. One person extremely passionate about FOOD; the highlight of my days are the meals I'm gonna have... whether its in my college canteen, whether its some yum roadside sandwich, or when I'm feeling a little rich and my wallets are full with the month's allowance n I enjoy a little finer dining :P and the other thing I cant stop talking about... FASHION. now the thing about fashion is this, its extremely relative..depends from person to person..but you have to know when it is a complete fashion disaster. Take us for example, all we do in college (apart from eating n ofcourse studying ;) is look at what people are wearing. We have our own codes. Like when someone just turns up with the perfect outfit or when someone turns up wearing something that we can only describe as something made from a curtain :P.
So anyway, in a nutshell, we'll talk about the best places to eat, the most reasonable places to eat, the places that serve the best of a particular dish...n the worst (so you don't subject yourself to projectile vomiting) Also, we'll tell you about the hottest fashions of the season, where to find cheap look - alikes of something you liked at your favourite store but then found too expensive..and about movies n T.V. shows that we think inspired us in our lifelong search for good food n fashion. In short, we're just looking out for you :)
