What's Inside? (contd.)

Now that we've got the basics sorted, lets move on to the more important stuff, Make-up. We all need it. A lot, or very little. Here's what I think are the basic things you should have to look ready for a party-

Inside My Make-up Kit:

  • Compact- Currently using MAC for my skin tone.

  • Eye liner/ Kajal- Currently using Colossal Kajal by Maybelline.

  • Concealer- Currently using a Body Shop concealer for my skin tone.

  • Lipstick- Currently using an MAC Taupe Lipstick.

  • Eye Shadow- Currently using L'Oreal.

Yep. That's all you need to look like a porcelain doll. Everyone on the big screen needs it too, so don't be ashamed to use some and look gorgeous! We're all worth it ;)

Broke!

Is it just me or is everyone feeling a little ripped off? I start my day with a loaded wallet, and just a bite or two  here and there later, my wallet is CONSIDERABLY lighter. All I'm saying is, food just didn't cost so much back in the day. Haha I'm a teen so that can't be very long ago :P

One of the worst feelings is when you leave a restaurant feeling hungry and ripped off. This is how I've been feeling lately (when I don't have my parents to pay the bill ;). I recently had a meal at Cafe Mondegar and left there hungry and broke. Now that is not a good way to feel. All I ordered was an Iced Tea, Chilli Cheese Toast and a dismal portion of chopped up Sausages with Chilly and Garlic and I was already grabbing on to my wallet for dear life. Why can't casual restaurants just be more affordable? Or if not, at least increase the portion so that it fills at least one stomach, forget 3 other friends sharing!

PLACES FOR YOU PALATE WHICH IS EASY ON YOUR WALLET:
  • Eat Around the Corner- Bandra
  • Oven Fresh- Shivaji Park
  • Madras Cafe- Dadar
  • Prakash- Shivaji Park (Refer to blogpost 'Roots')
  • Tibbs Frankie- Shivaji Park, Phoenix, etc.
  • Right Place, Kemps Corner
  • Maroosh- Phoenix, Carter Road, Opp Sterling Theatre
Those are about all I can think of now. Great food and great prices. I hope it's been helpful and I hope you don't have to face the terrible situation that I've been facing.

Stay Hungry.

What's inside?

I'm sure you've read many magazine articles and blogs of celebrities and what they have in their 'bag'. Who's to say they aren't just fibbing to keep the image? I can see these articles going 2 ways, one, that they name the highest brands and most expensive stuff to be celebritish (yeah, I just made that word up) or two, they've caught on this act and do exactly the opposite and name really stupid, mundane and redundant things thinking that they're 'identifying' with their audience. Bottom line: Neither is being completely honest.

So what do we ACTUALLY have in our bags and our make-up kits? I'm sure we have a balance of both, expensive and handy but cheap stuff. Expensive bordering on a really precious Chanel No. 5 granted to us after endless pestering and cheap being a really pretty compact mirror picked up from Colaba Causeway.
There's no limit to what a girl carries in her bag. It's one of the most mysterious and fascinating things ever.Yes. That's what the opposite sex thinks. Truth, even we aren't aware of what exactly we've put in there.

Getting to the point, here are a few things I can't leave home without. Thing's that stick even after endless bag changes. Things that are married to every new bag.

INSIDE MY BAG-
  • Lip Balm or Lip Gloss
Currently using a BORN LIPPY lip balm from The Body Shop, grape flavour.
  • Ipod
Currently using a white iTouch with purple JBL earphones.

  • Wet Wipes
Currently using a pack of H&M Blood Orange Hand and Face wipes.
  • Sanitizer
Currently using Pink Grapefruit Hand Cleanse Gel from The Body Shop.

As long as I have these things, I can get through the day without having to worry about dry, cracked lips and long, silent cab rides and grimy hands and an oily face.

Next up, what's inside my make-up kit! Until then, stay chic ;)

Jamie Oliver.

My ultimate guru when it comes to food. This guy, just means so much to me and has inspired me so so much. What I love about him? His simplicity. Nothing he cooks EVER seems complicated. Even the way he writes his cookbooks is just so endearing that you believe that you can cook it.

First, a little background check-
Jamie Oliver started cooking at his parents' pub, the Cricketers, in Clavering, Essex at the age of eight, and has gone on to work with some of the world's top chefs. He founded Fifteen restaurant in London. There are now three other Fifteen restaurants in the world: Cornwall, Amsterdam and Melbourne.

In 2005 Jamie led a campaign to improve the quality of school dinners in the UK and through the Feed Me Better movement, caused the government to substantially change its policy. He writes for publications in the UK and around the world, including his own Jamie Magazine.

Yes. So now that you know that he's an established chef and not just someone I have a crush on (even though he is extremely cute ;), let me continue. One of the first apps I downloaded on my ipad was the Jamie Oliver app. It's one of the best things ever! And if you love British food, this man should be your God. Also, his books are just so beautiful that I can read them almost as many times as Harry Potter. And THAT is saying something!

Cuteness overload!
Jamie's Restaurant: Fifteen. Can't wait to go there!

Jamie and pizza: Could it get any better?

So those of you who hadn't heard about Jamie Oliver, now have a fairly clear idea about him and how awesome he is. And those of you who did know about him but didn't like him, I hope you do now :D

Let me conclude with a quote by him "After a couple of drinks, anyone can be a barman!"
Touche ;)
